All of the year 5/6’s had a great time at Camp Kangaroobie, everyone had a great time and a lot of fun.

Allthough it was five days everyone survived the trip but some people got a bit wet!

During week four the grade 5/6 students will be heading off for the week to camp Kangaroobie, which is located on the Great Ocean RD, Princetown. The dates are August 3rd-August 7th all students are very excited and have their packing list, digital cameras are allowed (but no iPods, iPhones,iPads,etc.)

Some of the activities are: Beach Hike, Bush Cooking, Bushwalking, Canoening, Farm Activities, Fishing, Games, Hut Building, Low Ropes, Obstacle Course, Orienteering and Geography.  At night we will have a trivia night, movie night, night walk and aboriginal bush dancing night.

  On the 28th of April, year 5/6 students had an incursion about electricity.

Sally taught us about electric circuits and set up activities for us.

We had electric wires, batteries and lights. We had 2 batteries in a power source and we had to clip the wires onto the power source’s metal part and clip the other end with the light’s metal part.

Everyone enjoyed the incursion especially the electric shock machine and had lots of fun!

Tuesday 9th Of June

5/6s Have been learning about Earth and the world around us!

We went to Scienceworks to learn about seasons and space, we went to the Planetarium and watched Tilt.

We explored and our minds were inspired by the wacky inventions! (Sport science and House science were the exhibitions).

Unfortunately we did not go to the Lightning room.
